Quality Assurance, I-57

CTL is providing materials coordination and quality assurance testing for the resurfacing of I-57 in south metropolitan Chicago. CTL is a subconsultant for Bowman, Barrett & Associates, Inc., the prime construction management consultant for the Illinois DOT for this two-year project.

This project involves extensive concrete patching, bridge replacements, and an asphalt overlay consisting of a sand fracture interlayer and SMA binder and surface. CTL involvement includes ensuring that all materials being used on the project have the proper certification and testing requirements. CTL personnel are heavily involved in the quality assurance for the concrete and asphalt materials, providing their expertise to the contractor and construction inspection personnel to confirm that the final product meets or exceeds the specification.
